We are looking for a Data Centre Raised Floor Manager for Melbourne, AU!
About the role:
- The Raised Floor Manager takes key accountability for the day to day management of the Telstra Data Centres and specifically, maintaining the integrity of Telstra’s key IT systems.
- Contribute to the support of Telstra IT environments and supporting Colo customers in day to day activities, providing highly available environment, within the Data Centre.
As a Data Centre Raised Floor Manager, your key accountabilities are to:
- Monitor the IT change management system for site access requests.
- Monitor/manage/mentor/lead the teams as required that are responsible for Data Centre security, IT Infrastructure Deployment, Raised Floor activities, Energy and Facilities Management at Telstra’s Data Centre sites housing Telstra’s IT systems.
- Perform the “front of house” site liaison role for Data Centres (DC) with internal and external Data Centre users and stakeholders.
- Act as the key stakeholder and/or proponent for complex DC changes, including attending applicable change review boards.
- Provide the primary Data Centre-Incident Management interface for data centre and/or IT incidents. For out of hours incidents, participate in an “on call” escalation rostering system within the DC group to ensure coverage at all times.
- Initiate, perform and close out related incident, post incident review and problem management activities including making online updates in the required timeframes for these items.
- Conduct or assist with conducting site tours or other site review activities such as security audits as required.
- Review, develop and update DC’s services / processes / standards with a focus on simplification whilst maintaining robust controls.
- Manage relationships and attend adhoc or regular meetings with key Telstra suppliers / partners.
- Manage the Telstra to Facilities Management service provider interface, including the preparation of components to support changes which could potentially impact IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with peers and team members to enhance the team value proposition.
- Manage minor works / sub-projects to support team or business goals as required.
- Oversee the DC Health Safety and Environmental responsibilities including ensuring that applicable processes, inspections, reviews and documentation is up to date. For example, ensure that the Site’s Emergency Plan is appropriate and compliant with Telstra’s standards.
- Produce regular team activity metrics and reporting.
- Assist with processing purchase orders, budget preparation, budget tracking and associated administration systems
- Follow Company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as might be expected with this role.
