We own, operate and maintain the electricity transmission and distribution network in Tasmania. We deliver a safe, cost-effective and reliable electricity supply to more than 295,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. We facilitate the transfer of electricity between Victoria and Tasmania via Basslink, the sub-sea electricity interconnector. We also provide telecommunications and technology services.

1st Year Transmission Lineworker Apprentice Salary - $77,250 per annum (plus Super)

TasNetworks are on the lookout for energetic individuals who enjoy working in a team environment to join our Apprenticeship Program. Commencing in February 2026, our 4-year apprenticeship program provides the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised trade qualification – Certificate III in ESI Transmission Overhead (UET30521).
Learning from skilled and dedicated tradespeople, you will be exposed to –
- A combination of theory and hands-on learning, delivered by TasNetworks’ own Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- On-site field work at various job sites statewide
- Construction and maintenance of the transmission overhead network
- Locate and rectify faults on the transmission network
- Operate and maintain plant and equipment
- Complete all necessary paperwork and reporting
