Risk Analyst (FanDuel)
Overview
Due to substantial growth, we are looking to hire a Risk Analyst to join our global Risk & Trading team where you will play a key role in supporting the expansion of FanDuel across Australia. This role is a great opportunity for someone that wants to help build the best sportsbook risk department, in a company that is fast becoming the biggest sportsbook in the world.

The Role
As a Risk Executive, you’ll be required to monitor & analyse betting activity on wide range of sporting events using your best judgement to find the balance between risk mitigation and optimal customer experience.
Customer analysis, interpreting patterns in customer activity and building relationships with key stakeholders are where Risk executives can add value, so a strong attention to detail, inquisitive mind and an empathetic approach to communicating is a must. Being able to work in a team, stay organised and keeping our customers front of mind will be valuable skills to possess.
Key Responsibilities:
- In time, you will be Creating & tracking key performance metrics that establish the impact of Risk Operations responsibilities & decisions
- Liability Management & reacting to Alerts & Suspensions
- Customer Risk Management & analysing betting patterns to better enhance the way we use our Customer Segmentation tiers
- Owning Risk performance reporting at a team & individual risk manager level
- Working with people managers within the team and key external stakeholders, providing feedback & collaborating to optimise processes and drive performance improvements
- Contributing to enhancing our Price Assurance strategies to achieve valuable team KPI’s
- Building & maintaining key working relationships with key partners around the globe
- In time, mentoring other members of the team & helping ensure work is performed optimally in terms of accuracy, efficiency & speed
The FanDuel team in Melbourne adopt a flexible 5 day working week policy based on customer needs to ensure a great work-life balance for our staff. There is a requirement for weekend work, but shifts of up to 8 hours will generally fall between 7am – 6pm allowing you to still have your nights!
About You
If you have a high attention to detail, remain calm under pressure, can communicate effectively, and collaborate well within teams, then this could be the role for you.
However, we do ask that you have:
- An understanding of statistics and probability with a love for data and numbers
- Be proficient in excel and a genuine team player (if you love sports, even better!)
- A willingness to learn and grow but with great computer literacy
We don’t expect anyone to walk in the door and know everything at the start, so we take our training seriously and make sure that the successful candidate is well supported. This role is a hybrid position that has ability to work from home but at the start of your role, we require most days to be in the office to help with training and onboarding.
