About The Role

We are on the hunt for a Head of Risk & Compliance to assist with the implementation and embedding of our risk and compliance frameworks within the Betting Product & Data (BPD) Department in order to:

• Ensure the Company’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements

• Effectively manage key operational risks and improve assurance

This 12 month position will make a significant contribution towards executing Sportsbet’s risk management and compliance strategy and operating model by performing an advisory and partnering role.

You will partner with senior leaders and stakeholders across BPD and Sportsbet to shift the dial on the risks that really matter while ensuring Sportsbet maintains its licence to operate.

Your commercial acumen and growth mindset places you well to provide independent opinion and recommendation in an energetic and engaging manner that will result in influencing Sportsbet’s operational performance.

Reporting to the General Manager of Risk & Compliance and sitting on the BPD extended leadership team, you will be a key member of a high-profile function across Risk & Trading, Product Management and Data Science.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ensure compliance with various relevant betting obligations under Sportsbet’s Licence Conditions and adherence to permitted bet types and minimum bet limits as per product fee agreements.
• Conduct reviews/oversee assurance of BPD’s key business processes and controls to ensure the continued adherence to and effective implementation of policies, procedures and regulations.
• Develop a high performing Line 1 function and influence the BPD Department more broadly to reflect high awareness and embeddedness of compliance.
• Act as a representative in relevant forums within BPD and Sportsbet in relation to compliance matters, with accountability for presenting back material messaging to Sportsbet stakeholders and the Legal, R&C and External Affairs teams
• Assess strategic initiatives and process improvements to ensure risk and Compliance is understood and accounted for.
• Lead BPD Audit management and oversight, tracking Action closure and testing to provide assurance that actions are embedded.
