Emergency Services Officer (ESO)
About the role
The South32 GEMCO Emergency Services Team provides essential services across the South32 GEMCO operation and to the community.
Key responsibilities in your role as Emergency Services Officer include:
- Emergency preparedness and emergency management activities.
- Provide acute injury management & facilitate telemedicine for employees and contractors.
- Provide drug and alcohol testing services to the site.
- Co-ordinate Security operations in conjunction with a private security company and NT Police.
- Provide emergency response on behalf of GEMCO across; Firefighting, Emergency Medical, Road Crash Rescue, Vertical and Confined Space rescue, Hazardous materials incidents and Hazard reduction activities.
About you
You will naturally have a passion and commitment to workplace safety. Having previous experience or the utmost enthusiasm and drive to succeed and develop yourself is fundamental.

In addition, you should possess:
- Certificate III Mines Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
- Cert IV Health Care (Ambulance)
- Drug and Alcohol Testing and Collection
- Medium Rigid Licence
