The role

The role of the IoT Product Director is multifaceted, involving strategic planning, product development and management responsibilities. As part of Iota's leadership team, the role will involve the following key aspects:

  • Product Strategy
  • Market Research and Analysis
  • Product Management
  • IoT Technology Expertise
  • Go-to-market
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Performance monitoring and optimisation
  • Team Leadership

The IoT Product Director will be an advocate for ongoing digital transformation in the water sector and will passionately articulate South East Water’s approach to this from a technical and commercial standpoint, positioning Iota as a genuine partner to other water utilities and partners.

The successful candidate will be well versed in product strategy, product commercialisation, partner and customer acquisition, stakeholder management and have a solid understanding of B2B platform businesses. A familiarity with the utility sector and Internet of Things (IoT) would be considered advantageous.

Who are you?

To be considered for this exciting new role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience in strategic planning and particularly the successful growth of IoT device and platform-based businesses.
  • Experience in gathering market intelligence and developing go-to-market strategies.
  • Proven ability in establishing and maintaining networks of partners, particularly manufacturers, IoT device distributors, systems integrators, telcos and technology companies.
  • Clear understanding of a range of business models such as PaaS, SaaS, and accelerators to grow a technology platform.
  • Clear understanding of IoT devices, communications protocols and interoperability.
  • Ability to shape a product roadmap and interact with technical resources to ensure it translates into functional requirements.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across complex matrix organisations and secure support and resources.
  • Experience in responding to complex market opportunities such as tenders.
