Casual Catering Assistant - Sth Yarra
About the Role
Sodexo have a Casual Catering Assistant opportunity at one of our prestigious Education sites located at South Yarra, Melbourne.
With a focus on high quality food production and presentation, you will be involved in preparing a range of food including boarding house meals, daily food offerings in the onsite canteen, as well as high end functions. This position presents a great variety of duties for a talented catering assistant! With the opportunity to learn and develop, you will enjoy working in a cohesive, high performing team that supports the Head Chef in the smooth running of the catering operations on site.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated food handling skills (sandwich & salad preparation, chopping vegetable, slicing of meats), food presentation & garnishing skills and previous experience within kitchen operations across cleaning of equipment and floors, cold larder and pantry storage and a knowledge of food safety standards.
You will have exceptional customer service skills, be willing and physically able to work at a fast pace across a variety of duties and have a genuine passion for what you do.
This is a casual position across Monday to Friday with occasional weekends, you can expect to be rostered a minimum of 15-20 hours per week. Shifts vary from 6 am - 1.30 pm, 10 am - 2 pm and 8 am - 1.30 pm, shift durations mostly between 4-6 hours.
Full work rights in Australia are essential and it is also a requirement to have an automatic drivers License in order to safely and confidently drive a food delivery van on site.
