The role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced civil engineer to join Snowy Hydro as an Asset Engineer - Dam Safety. This role is suitable for a driven individual with general civil engineering experience with a willingness to learn and adapt to a dam safety role.
You will focus on contributing to the long-term performance and capability of Snowy Hydro's dam portfolio through the provision of engineering advice and support to the business. Contribute to the development and delivery of the dam safety program by sourcing suitable technical and management advice for the delivery of technical standards, maintenance plans/specifications, undertaking condition assessments and prescription of technical compliance requirements.
This role has the ability to be based out of the Snowy Monaro region or Canberra, with attendance to Snowy Hydro's office in Cooma as required.
We're looking for someone with:

Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering with a minimum 2 years experience, within the heavy industry is preferred

Experience in Asset Management principles and in the management of civil infrastructure

Experience in sourcing and managing technical advice from external parties

Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of personnel and customers

The ability to work both alone and as part of a team; and to work effectively both at site and remotely from site

Computer skills involving spreadsheets and statistical analysis

Knowledge of OH&S, EEO, and Environmental Policies and standards

The ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changing circumstances and business demands in a measured and constructive way
