As part for the RACQ group risk management framework, we have compliance, risk and assurance specialist leaders embedded within our group and business lines to achieve this cohesive oversight.

We have a new career opportunity for a Compliance Advisor to join the Group Risk and Compliance Division and report to Manager Bank Compliance and provide support to the Senior Compliance Advisor. This role will be responsible for supporting the Bank Risk and Compliance team to deliver an effective and efficient regulatory compliance framework and compliance advisory function to ensure the Bank meets its legal and regulatory obligations.

​​​​​About You

  • Minimum of university degree in relevant study area (compliance, legal risk or business)
  • 3 years relevant experience in a graduate banking program, retail banking compliance or quality assurance areas
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit / risk review policies and processes.
  • Understanding of emerging legislative and regulatory reforms relevant to retail banking.
  • Ideally knowledge of digital, data analytics and technology changes impacting on retail banking, and ability to advise on / implement sound compliance management techniques for the business.
  • An understanding of legal and regulatory compliance pertaining to retail banking (which may include Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act, Corporations Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act, Privacy Act, ePayments Code, Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice, APRA Prudential Standards, and ASIC Regulatory Guides), and ability to implement compliance frameworks in relation to these.
  • Sound knowledge of compliance policies and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in writing professional reports.
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills and professional judgement.
  • Excellent organisational, time, task and prioritisations skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including experience in working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to achieve sound business outcomes.
