About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced works dispatcher to join our Faults Dispatch team network in a 12-hour scheduled shift roster working environment based at our Market Street head office in the CBD on a permanent basis.


The role itself is responsible for the daily assignment of our field resources to unplanned works on our network including the optimisation, control, dispatch and delivery of work orders for execution.


The role will be vital in ensuring all works are completed to maximise utilisation, productivity and target delivery achievement whilst meeting Health & Safety outcomes. In addition, the role will monitor all work to completion in real time, using initiative to identify, resolve or escalate exceptions and variations as required.

*Please note that this is shift role, requiring the successful candidate to work four 12-hour shifts across a scheduled 9 day roster*

About you:
We are looking for someone with expert communication and time management skills. You will also be used to working as part of a collaborative team and using initiative and lateral thinking in resolving issues or problems. This is a rare opportunity not to be missed!

What you’ll deliver:

  • Prioritise, co-ordinate and ensure works are dispatched in a timely fashion that resolves in day jeopardies and re-scheduling as required in line with business requirements
  • Manage fault activities during normal, emergency, and escalated events to minimise unplanned customer minutes off supply through adequate monitoring and coordination.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of all information within the work program by updating relevant business information systems in a timely and accurate manner e.g. IVR (including manual messages), OMS, Estimated Time of Restoration, crew manager, ClickSchedule, Map Insights.
  • Utilise all sources of information including customers, resources, and business information systems to achieve informed prioritisation of works.
  • Co-ordination of information between customers, contact centre, field crews, internal stakeholders and other groups and external authorities (e.g.: police, fire agencies, Availability Team Leaders, Network Availability Officers, Operations and Control Staff).
  • Contribute to regular reporting and information forums to review work programs and project progress


To succeed in this role you’ll have:

  • Advanced Diploma qualification in ESI Power Systems or a relevant technical trade discipline with field experience and/or;
  • Extensive experience in the coordination, dispatch and control of work and/or resources within the utilities sector.
