About the Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to join our HSE Projects team in a full-time permanent capacity based at our Market Street head office.

The role itself will be responsible for setting and delivering on the business safety strategy and continually driving HSE compliance and improvements along with coaching, enabling and assisting leaders to champion health and safety throughout our operations.

Leading a team of dedicated HSE professionals, this role will ensure the broader team supports the business and stakeholders to maintain a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with industry practices and ensure compliance with legislative requirements through the development, deployment and continuous improvement of our HSE management system and strategic improvement plan.

What you’ll deliver:

  • Demonstrate proactive HSE leadership in behaviours and actions
  • Positively influence, coach, and educate team members in HSE practices and processes
  • Identify, communicate, and implement strategies that will improve individual and team performance to ensure effective HSE outcomes are delivered via system improvements, effective engagement, and innovation
  • Lead the design, delivery and embedding of HSE Management System, strategy, and key operational initiatives
  • Able to build and manage effective relationships with all contractors, partnerships and suppliers
  • Accountable for driving high quality investigation process across contractors and delivery partners
  • Monitor, review and report on the performance of the health and safety management system in achieving health and safety strategic objectives.

To succeed in this role you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualification (Health and Safety and/or Environmental or similar)
  • Formal investigation training (ICAM is preferred)
  • Experience within the energy industry (or other relevant industry), and extensive experience working as an HSE professional
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HSE legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Experience and competent in delivering HSE improvement initiatives, preparing reports, developing procedures and presenting to a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to lead and influence others to support and develop teams
  • Skills in building and managing relationships with team members and stakeholders.
