Your new role:
Reporting to the Manager - Technology and CI this position is accountable for driving the delivery of the improvement pipeline and delivering breakthrough initiatives on site, partnering with leadership and team members to deliver the business plan goals through continuous improvement.
The Site Improvement team supports the Site Leadership Team in shaping and delivering the strategy and annual business plans through the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives for the site and maturing of the BHP Operating System (BOS) ways of working.
The BHP Operating System is a way of leading and working that makes improvement part of what we do every day and focuses on Serving Our Customers, Pursuing Operation Perfection and Empowering Our People.
Location: Prominent Hill , South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 48 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
How you will create impact:
- Drive the development and delivery of the improvement pipeline through healthy tension and robust routines including integrating with functional stakeholders
- Deliver ‘big rocks’ – leading site level priority improvement projects (including those linked to broader SA Province focus topics)
- Build capability in initiative owners and sponsors across the site to develop, deliver and realise their own initiatives through coaching and mentoring
- Prioritise the application of the BHP Operating System Principles and Practices to deliver on the site improvement priorities
- Support the alignment and cascade of KPIs and goals through the operation
- Support the successful integration of Prominent Hill into the South Australian Copper Province
- Contribute to improvement efforts across Minerals Australia by supporting other improvement teams, regional initiatives and sharing bright spots
What you'll need to succeed:
- Experienced business improvement professional with experience delivering in a mining environment
- High excitement about the possibilities of the South Australian Copper Province and want to be part of the team that shapes future of Prominent Hill
- Strong leadership capabilities, astute business acumen, strategy development, change management, strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
- A deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and organisational change management with a foundation of excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and influencing capability to deliver value through an ‘influence-based’ role, with collaborative approach to finding effective and practical solutions that address root cause
- You will be comfortable with ambiguity, complexity and delivering outcomes in a matrix environment using your collaboration, engagement, influence and coaching skills
- A solid understanding of the BHP Operating System and associated Improvement processes and systems is highly desirable
