Reporting to the Senior Pricing Manager, the Senior Pricing Analyst provides a vital role in developing, executing, and monitoring Origin’s commercial strategy across the focus areas of price setting, customer lifetime value, commercial analysis and tender submissions. This role will balance multiple key stakeholders and help achieve the optimal outcome for Origin's retail gas and electricity portfolios whilst maintaining a positive customer experience.

The Senior Pricing Analyst will understand the energy supply chain and how each component influences the customer outcome and have an understanding of the regulatory environment in which we operate.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and maintain pricing models that allow for scenario testing of tariff setting process, commercial and customer strategies.
• Develop data management capability and construct complex financial models that allow for margin analysis, commercial scenario planning and backtesting.
• Perform quantitative analysis on electricity and gas tariffs to inform strategic and commercial decision making
• Take end to end ownership of the retention portfolio for residential and SME customers, optimising portfolio mix to retain customers and create value.
• Predictive modelling for customers going through their renewal and acquisition journeys and ongoing monitoring of retention performance against plan to ensure alignment to share and value objectives.
• Understand market dynamics and support the Sales team to understand customer requirements to facilitate acquisition and retention bids with competitive market rates.
• Assess viability of discounts on margins for different products, including fixed and discounted offers.

IS THIS YOU?

You will be able to showcase your considerable attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a good knowledge of electricity and gas markets, regulatory and commercial concepts. You’ll be degree qualified in either Engineering, Science, Maths, Commerce, or a similar discipline. You’re experienced in or can show:

• Minimum four years of experience in energy or similar industry.
• Highly numerate and analytical and strong financial modelling skills.
• Technical skills: Advanced Excel, SQL and Tableau skills.
• Ability to problem solve and develop recommendations.
• Ability to drive a process forward.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (report, briefs, investment proposals, external communications).
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and perform under pressure, often with competing priorities.
• Ability to interact with staff at all levels.
