Test Manager
About the role:
Test Manager has responsibility for the full MNS Program test and acceptance regime, and operational oversight of all testing. They will manage the test planning and test execution elements of each project and related BAU tasks.
The Test Manager has responsibility for evaluating requirements and functional specifications, gaining agreement to Acceptance Criteria, preparation of test objectives and test plans, overseeing the development of test cases/scenarios with subject matter experts, and the drafting of test schedules in conjunction with Stream Leads. The Test Manager will provide direction and guidance to the test team during these planning and execution phases, keeping track of the test schedule and reporting any potential risk to either schedule or scope to the Stream Lead.
The Test Manager is required to provide strong Test Leadership and coordination to meet project requirements during a variety of test phases (Unit, System, Performance and User Acceptance), where applicable. The Test Manager is the first point of assurance that a solution does indeed meet all documented and agreed requirements. They are responsible for all testing work to enable successful acceptance of contract deliverables.
The Test Manager is required to deliver testing across multiple telecommunication platforms, including collaborations, contact center, and networks.
Due to the requirement to hold an Australian Government Security clearance, the position holder must be an Australian Citizen.
Responsibilities:
- Early engagement of solutions, participating in the review of the solution, providing test estimates and recommendation of testing requirements
- Planning and development of test artifacts including Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Scripts, Operational Test Readiness Plans
- Coordinate test stakeholders with test activities
- Facilitating Run throughs of tests with all necessary stakeholders
- Participation in project and/or client meetings for test updates and ensuring the stakeholders are provided detailed test progress and updates.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders, including the Pre-Production Manager, Projects, Engineers and Architects
- Working closely with the customer and other service providers and bring them along the testing journey and assurance of the quality of testing, including User Acceptance Testing
- Testing execution where required
- The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise workload while working with the client, other service providers, Optus subcontractors and internal Optus stakeholders
Experience required:
- Due to the requirement to hold an Australian Government security clearance, the position holder must be an Australian Citizen.
- Significant experience in managing large enterprise scale test environments
- A strong background in systems test management
- Demonstrated understanding of test management principles from both an applications and infrastructure perspective
- Experience and knowledge in test design and test execution of hardware and software systems in relation to Contact Centre applications, IP networking systems and/or large integrated/distributed system environments
- Knowledge of systems and software development lifecycle
- Experience generating and working to detail task-based project schedules.
- Experience generating and reviewing high quality test plans, procedures and reports
- Proven ability to estimate test effort required for complex projects
- Excellent customer relationship management skills
- Business maturity, rapport, credibility and dependability dealing with senior customer management
- Strong personal commitment to achieving results
- Proven ability to exercise strong and effective leadership in high-pressure situations
- A well-developed knowledge of ITILv3 practices, processes and formal ITIL qualifications
