About the Role

Reporting to the Professional Services Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the effective leadership and management of multiple small-medium ICT projects. This role ensures each project is delivered on time, to budget and to the quality standard within agreed specifications, by ensuring effective resource and relationship management across a diverse stakeholder group. The project coordinator will also have involvement in the pre-sales phase to provide support in identifying resources and project costs. Another critical responsibility of this role is to provide project administrative support to the Project Manager in large cross-functional projects/programs which includes setting up and managing support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and communication. They will produce consolidated reporting documentation that includes milestone summaries, key issues, risks and summary of project costs.

More specifically

Responsibilities and challenges include

  • Manage a complex schedule in Ark with many interdependencies amongst the project stream tasks, as well as a variety of levels of depth to the input of project schedules
  • Implement procedures and processes as the team is newly established, requiring organisational change management techniques and ensuring adoption of the ePMO services
  • Take ownership and responsibility for timely and accurate production of reports used by Optus’s executive management team
  • Coordinate and drive efficiencies not only with project managers within the Optus team but with their counterparts in the Joint ePMO
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships and interfaces with all supported Project and Program Managers at Optus
  • Coordination across Optus to drive the efficient and effective business output
  • Continually meet tight deadlines to meet business requirements for Optus.

About You

We are looking for the following skills experience and attributes

  • At least 2 years project management experience
  • Tertiary qualified (University Degree/Diploma) or relevant business/technical qualifications
  • ICT or Telecommunications industry experience
  • Project management certification – CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile
  • Analytical planning and forward thinking with the ability to conceptualise and create alternatives
  • Leadership skills through influencing and relationship building
  • Knowledge of ICT software and hardware products
  • Proven track record in supporting a large team
  • Strong administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the program life cycle, project documentation, project standards, tools and methodologies
