Located in the Great Sandy Desert in Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognizes the importance of work-life balance. Our comfortable, well furnished rooms include Foxtel, and our site offers quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports and recreation activities. Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer.

Who we are looking for

We are currently seeking a Resource Definition Geologist to join our Geology team based at Telfer to contribute to our next phase of Resource Growth. Reporting to the Superintendent – Resource Development & Operational Drilling, you will be accountable for delivery of Near Mine exploration and Resource Definition drilling programs, maintaining all aspects of safe program delivery, with particular emphasis on sound geological process, data collection, interpretation and reporting.

Your responsibilities will include daily contractor management, drilling program management, geological data collection and interpretation. Additionally, this role will contribute to identification of future growth opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for someone excited about identifying our next ore body. Ideally, you will be a tertiary qualified Geologist with an interest in both Near Mine exploration and underground drilling programs, experience in 3D modelling and geological interpretation, and a passion for Geology.

As a safety focused professional who enjoys technical challenges and rewarding exposure, you will easily build stakeholder relationships, where your recommendations can make a real impact. An interest in areas of continuous improvement, at both self and operational levels is also something we encourage in our collaborative teams.

Proficiency in use of Leapfrog, Vulcan and Acquire will be highly regarded. Excellent data analysis, presentation and reporting skills will be essential.

Please note: This is a permanent full-time opportunity on a FIFO 8 days on, 6 days off roster from Perth.
