The role:

The team have an exciting permanent opportunity within the C&IB AUSTRAC EU Response team to combat financial crime. This first line role plays a pivotal role for NAB and our customers by identifying and mitigating Financial Crime risk through the effective implementation of policy, advice and business governance.

You will work with senior stakeholders across NAB, including C&IB Financial Crime, FCRM, C&IB Product/Frontline to improve governance, controls, risk management and reporting.

Importantly, this role will be at the forefront of NAB’s commitments as part of the EU, actively contributing to key milestones and treatment plans to deliver priority compliance.

This is a critical role in meeting regulatory requirements & obligations and specifically regulatory commitments under the AUSTRAC Enforceable Undertaking.

This opportunity will provide you with exposure to the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring alignment of policies and processes to the Bank’s AML/CTF Program and Standards
  • Risk assessment actions (e.g. Enterprise-wide risk assessment, Product risk assessment, Channel risk assessment)
  • Oversight and monitoring of internal service providers to ensure the Internal Service Agreements, processes and controls they operate on our behalf remain effective
  • People management of a small team of 3-5 direct reports
  • Support remediation activities in relation to any AML/KYC issues
  • Engagement with senior stakeholders across NAB
  • 3rd party due diligence oversight and monitoring of AML/CTF services
  • Executive financial crime reporting.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven ability to simplify complex matters and communicate effectively with business stakeholders
  • Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Experience i developing and implementing a Financial Crime and risk management prevention strategy across a business unit
  • Detailed understanding of the Financial Crime and risk management landscape and application to the C&IB Transformation business and its clients
  • Analytical skills required to analyse Financial Crime risk and controls data from multiple sources to identify, assess and measure trends and patterns
  • Experience of working within the Op Risk Framework, including detailed knowledge of Operational Risk Management Process
  • Proven ability to identify pragmatic solutions to managing risks, and then deliver against this
  • Previous experience in managing a team.
