It’s more than a career at NAB. It’s about more opportunity, more moments to make a difference and more focus on you.

It’s a good time to see what more you can find at NAB as an Officer.

The role:

We currently have a great opportunity for an Officer to join the Priority Trade Finance Operations Team within C&IB. Our core business is processing transactions for our export customers involving Documentary Letters of Credit and collections. The purpose of this role is to process international transactions for clients, under Letter of Credit and Collection, based in various market segments, including Institutional Banking, Corporate, Agribusiness and Nab Business, and be able to discuss aspects of these transactions with customers. This role requires fulltime hours in the office.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical information to customers on the establishment of export Letters of Credit, ensuring the Letter of Credit is workable
  • Ability to check shipping and commercial documents against Letters of Credit through application of governing rules and identify key information to prepare bank schedules and documentation
  • Identify and discuss discrepancies on shipping documents presented under Letter of Credit with customers
  • Process payments in AUD and Currency (CCY)
  • Establish Trade Finances and Documentary Collections
  • Establishment and advising of Inward Letters of Credits

Your skills and experience:

Ideally you will have current experience in International Trade Finance and transaction processing skills, particularly Trade documentation and Letters of Credit, with an understanding and application of International Rules governed by the International Chamber of Commerce, in particular Uniform Rules for Collection (URC 522) and Uniform Customs and Practice For Documentary Credits (UCP 600). Holding a CDCS qualification is considered an advantage but not essential.
Having direct customer contact, you will be passionate about customer service and driven by completing accurate transactions within set timeframes and have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
