Head of Strategy Payroll Governance

We currently have an opportunity for a Head of Strategy, Payroll Governance within our People Operational Excellence Division. This role reports to Executive People Operational Excellence and is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract .
This role supports the Executive People Operational Excellence in delivering strategic and stakeholder relationship activities related to the Payroll Governance Program. It serves as liaison between program resources and the Executive regarding program updates, proposals and planning. The role also assists with the management of key internal and external relationships (e.g., ELT, Regulators, FSU, P&C, Business) and will deliver a variety of projects to enhance the effectiveness of the PayGov Program as it finalises, and activities transition to business-as-usual.
Success in this role will need someone with strong systems thinking – someone who can understand the complexity, while also rising above to see the bigger picture and help to join the dots.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare presentations and updates for internal audiences, such as summaries of meetings, presentations for ELT meetings, CEO and PLT updates and board papers.
- Lead the design and implementation of the transition of PayGov program activities to BAU and the successful completion of the program.
- Assist in the resolution of escalations relating to the PayGov Program.
- Assist with the management of key internal and external relationships e.g. ELT, Regulators, FSU.
- Coordinate payroll regulatory issues and work closely with the Executive, Program Director Payroll Governance and ER Legal to monitor and respond.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of change & communications initiatives for the program.
- Help the Executive with communication and engagement across the program.
- Provide decision support to the Executive via research, analysis and synthesises.
- Manage and execute special projects as designated by the Executive.
What you will bring
- Minimum 8+ years' professional experience in a similar related role, with strong business partnering across a large enterprise or professional corporate business
- Ability to build relationships and manage expectations/timelines with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving, supporting delivery of initiatives that positively change and drive business performance in a sustainable and safe manner
- Superior time management and organisational skills
- Tertiary qualified (preferred)
