Building our Talent
Great opportunity for a skilled Estimator who to further develop their career as part of our New Business team in WA. Based out of our Perth Head Office, you will be responsible for the tendering of trades including scopes of work, cost planning, and preparation of estimates, tender pricing and submissions for key projects in the WA Region.
Key Accountabilities:
- Understanding and driving the ECI model – Early Contractor Involvement
- Maintain strong personable & commercial relationships with Clients, Consultants and sub-contractors
- Tender pricing, including rating of any Bill of Quantities provided
- Ensure full scope of work is costed for construction tenders
- Prepare schedule of preliminaries costs
- Provide estimating advice and comparative cost advice for alternatives if offered
- Identify risks and opportunities in design and tender documents and explore alternatives in order to ensure the targeted project margin is met or exceeded
- Review and critically assess estimates provided by quantity surveyors / subcontractor pricing
- Prepare assessments of escalation
- Take the lead role in the tendering of a project under the control of the Bid Manager
Key Skillset Required:
- Solid and proven experience working within Commercial Construction, Quantity Surveying or Estimating
- Extensive software skills in CostX, Bid Contender, Aconex, MS Excel, benchmarking databases
- Bachelor Degree in Construction Management or similar discipline preferred
- Alternatively TAFE Trade qualification or Trade experience on site
