The Opportunity
Our Office of General Counsel is currently seeking a corporate transactional lawyer to join the team to play a key role in fulfilling our purpose: to create sustainable value with our clients, our people and our communities. This role is a 12 month contract role to cover one of our team being on parental leave.
You will work closely with our General Counsel and other senior legal practitioners within the Firm's Office of General Counsel to advise on and support the Firm's legal, consulting and commercial operations. This role blends a top-tier law firm operating environment with the diversity of work and the commercial perspective of an in-house legal role. Supporting internal stakeholders primarily in Australia but also across our global network, the opportunities for a diverse range of work include:

Client engagement, tenders and contract negotiation

Procurement – digital and non-digital – contract negotiation

Corporate restructuring and M&A transactions

Regulatory compliance and risk advice

General corporate and commercial advice
The role offers an ambitious and adaptable corporate lawyer the opportunity to pivot their skills in a law firm environment into an influential business-facing role within Australia's largest law firm.
More About You
We welcome applications from lawyers who have:

Approximately 6 to 8 years' experience gained within a top-tier law firm with in-house legal experience

Experience in corporate and commercial law (transactional / complex contractual negotiation capability will be highly regarded)

Some management and leadership experience

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, stakeholders and fellow advisers
