We are currently looking for a SERQ Advisor to provide Safety, Environment, Risk and Quality support to Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) and contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.
As part of the Metro Tunnel Project, you will work in a team conducting site inspections and audits to ensure projects’ compliance with MTM Safety Management System (SMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Rail Safety National Law (RSNL) and relevant environmental legislation.
This is a unique and exciting role as you will support various projects and gain exposure to multi-disciplinary teams this will enable you to further your experience and develop a long-term career with Metro.
This role may require some shift work during occupations and will be a combination of working on site, CBD offices and working from home.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Leading HSE incident investigations to identify causal factors and presenting findings to various forums
- Promoting continual improvement of MTM SMS & EMS and developing and facilitating HSE training and education inclusive of regular toolbox sessions.
- Assisting the MTM SERQ team and wider Alliance teams in the development of safety and environmental strategies and initiatives.
- Liaising with internal and external regulatory parties and providing support to project delivery teams and contractors concerning HSE matters.
- Attending risk workshops to provide HSE specialist advice and technical input and ensure hazards/risks are being managed (including the MTM Critical Risk Framework).
- Reviewing HSE documentation including management plans, HSE reporting and implementing corrective actions.
About You
- Tertiary qualification in OH&S/WHS (or related field) or relevant onsite experience with a Cert IV in WHS.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation
- Experience in coordinating and monitoring HSE within the construction industry, airlines, maritime or rail would be highly desirable.
- Experience working in an Alliance within a complex project would be advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management experience to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Solid report writing, analytical ability and critical thinking with the ability to work autonomously.
