Position Purpose
We are looking for motivated and experienced Accounts Payable Administration Assistant to join our Finance team and contribute to the achievement of financial goals for Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM). The Accounts Payable Administration Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that the creditor invoices are processed accurately and paid in accordance with their contractual payment terms and act as the first point of contact for all district suppliers and internal customer queries. Reporting to the Team Leader Accounts Payable, this role will work in a supportive team environment that values unique and diverse thinking.
About the Role:
As the Accounts Payable Administration Assistant, you will:
- Act as financial representative across the ALL Group to ensure cost integrity and the accurate reporting of financial results in individual Monthly Reports
- Assist as required with half year and end of year financial audits, PTV Compliance audit and various other audit programs.
- Assist as required with the month end process, annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and any other Corporate Finance requirements
- Assist in the preparation and reconciliation of main supplier reconciliations and maintain supplier reconciliation register
- Assist the accurate capture of staff/contractor timesheets and input into Mincom including follow up/ correction of timesheets where necessary
- Liaise with project managers/ officers to ensure the accurate and timely presentation of supplier invoices for payment

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Completed Year 12 VCE or equivalent
- A tertiary qualification in Business or Accounting with CPA or ICAA status (desirable)
- Experience and understanding of key accounting concepts
- Familiarity with financial reporting systems, management information systems and computer-based systems
- Familiarity in the preparation and collation of financial information
- Previous exposure to project accounting (preferred)
