About the position:

As a Project Manager within our Infrastructure division, you’ll provide leadership, technical, and administrative assistance to maintenance, renewals, and project teams, in the planning and delivery of key works in Early Weeknight and Weekend occupations.

To “hit the ground running” you’ll need to be detail oriented and decisive, as you’ll be conducting critical examinations of work practices to identify problems, and then develop work procedures that will improve quality, efficiency, and most importantly, safety.

In this position you’ll rely on your stakeholder management skills to lead and manage across site teams, the division, and broader organisation, engaging and empowering members to achieve great outcomes for passengers, employees, and the business alike.

This position will work on a 5-week roster working Friday to Wednesday, with 1 week of night shifts and 4 weeks of day shift planning. There will also be occasional extra weekend work required.

Main duties include:

  • Critical examination of work practices to identify problems, and initiate/develop alternative work procedures to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.

  • Assist with planning work tasks and resources, maximising time on tools and team output.

  • Ensure adequate resources and equipment is available for all works, including emergency conditions to restore services within critical timeframes.

  • Ensure all information systems used have timely and correct information input.

  • Develop and manage delivery, reviewing progress against plans to ensure all are on schedule, taking effective remedial action as required.

  • Engage key stakeholders across the team, division, and broader organisation.

  • Implement Infrastructure maintenance, renewals, upgrades, and construction requirements and installation methods.

About you:

  • 5+ Years Rail experience – mandatory.

  • Understanding of rail specific works planning, occupation management and/or infield network knowledge.

  • Excellent communication skills, with great stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstratable experience in planning for Maintenance and Renewals Teams – preferred.

  • Experience using project management methodologies – preferred.

  • Confident in public speaking, presentation and negotiation skills – preferred.
