Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Acute Mental Health
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Join our close knit team in the new, state of the art 54 bed acute inpatient Mental Health Unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital. We seek to provide a collaborative, person centred and recovery oriented approach to Mental Health care in a safe environment.

Permanent Full-time position at the Clare Moore Building – Werribee Mercy Hospital

You will have clinical responsibility for the shift management when on duty
-
Mentor, coach and support nursing staff to develop and hone clinical skills
-
Support the NUM in delivering care within a primary nursing recovery model
-
Lead and support staff in the implementation of the safewards model
-
Opportunity to act up in NUM role on occasions.

Contribute positively to team culture and development, role modelling excellent nursing practice
ABOUT YOU:
-
Sound experience in an acute Mental Health setting, including some leadership experience
-
Current registration as Psychiatric Nurse with AHPRA
-
Ability to think and act in a person centred, recovery orientated manner
-
Enthusiasm and energy to deliver a good quality service to the clients through team development
-
Post graduate education in Mental Health or dedicated undergraduate Mental Health degree.

Study in the area of Clinical Management is desirable

A high level of communication and interpersonal skills

An ability to think and act in a person centred, recovery orientated manner

Services are available to adults through acute inpatient programs, residential rehabilitation programs and crisis and community recovery-focused treatment programs. We also offer inpatient and community specialist perinatal mental health services to women and infants in western Victoria.
