Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, this is key leadership role where you will partner with the Technology Function in providing commercial thought leadership with a focus on identifying, developing, and implementing action plans to further improve financial performance.

You will join a high performing retail business and a result driven finance team who take pride in what they do. The ideal candidate will be passionate about their role and thrive in a large dynamic Organization.

What you’ll be doing

As a Finance Manager working for Kmart, you will:

• Partner with the technology function to bring financial governance and commerciality around technology spend, whilst continuously lifting the commercial acumen of the technology team
• Build strong relationships with the finance and technology leadership teams and be confident in challenging and influencing outcomes as needed.
• Take ownership of a robust reporting suite ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Manage the calendar planning processes, ensuring alignment between the technology function, Kmart Group and Wesfarmers.
• Problem solve, identify trends and proactively address upcoming issues and opportunities.
• Support key business projects and track implementation of initiatives, including conducting PIRs.
• Prepare business cases and board reports and take a leadership position in the identification of new initiatives.
• Provide the finance team and key stakeholders with insights on the drivers of performance as required.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have

• A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a financial or commercial role.
• Be CPA or CA qualified.
• Ability to demonstrate thought leadership, initiative and operate in an autonomous manner.
• Demonstrated ability balancing strong commercial acumen and understanding of value drivers within a business with financial governance and pragmatism.
• Proven financial modelling skills and high competency in SAP, TM1 and Excel.
• Experience with Agile project management and Agile ways of working
• Finance experience in a retail environment would be an advantage, though not essential.
