Here's an overview of our role:
Our Regulatory and Compliance Analyst delivers regulatory and compliance analysis, advice and support in regulatory and compliance matters in relation to Jemena's economic regulation.
The purpose of this role is to provide proactive and timely advice and delivery of services concerning regulatory development and compliance reporting, in a manner that contributes to consistent shareholder returns and optimising the Jemena business.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in regulatory consultation processes on economic and compliance obligations to Jemena, and work collaboratively with other internal teams to implement measures necessary to comply with new reporting obligations.
- Review compliance materials, including training documentation, internal communications etc to ensure obligations/responsibilities are accurately understood and communicated across the business.
- Analyse and develop regulatory arguments and positions, participate in consultative processes, prepare and co-ordinating contributions to submissions and draft submissions to the various regulators.
- Provide timely, accurate and clear regulatory and compliance advice that reflects Jemena's commercial and customer drivers.
- Support the development of economic analysis, regulatory compliance and advice as an input to business decision making and regulatory processes, including drafting submissions and briefing papers and presentations for senior management.
A little about you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Law, Business or other related qualification.
- A sound understanding of the economic and commercial principles that underpin utility markets and their regulations.
- A sound understanding of compliance and risk frameworks, and compliance management systems.
- Understanding of regulatory obligations, particularly economic, regulatory obligations and reporting requirements applicable to electricity businesses regulation.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal, capable of influencing staff, peers and external stakeholders-including experience in the preparing and presenting to management and formal submissions.
- A breadth of regulatory and compliance knowledge spanning multiple utility sectors (desirable).
- Prior experience of working in economic, regulatory teams or at regulatory agencies.
- Attention to detail and quality assurance is critical.
