The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager, the Pre-Contracts Manager will provide the opportunity to leverage an industry wide network to gather information, engage and influence stakeholders, strategically position our organisation, form teams, and to pursue and convert key opportunities into delivery for a diverse range of public and private sector clients.
This role will manage the Queensland Pre-Contracts team, the governance process and outcomes associated with opportunities, and the management of allocated budgets to execute bids.
You will be Accountable for
Development and management of end-to-end market strategies and driving the pursuit for new business opportunities in Queensland.
The full bid lifecycle from opportunity identification through to signed contract.
Leading post tender negotiation and presentation.
Manage and formulate bid strategy, preparation of bid documents, bid media and the submission.
Clear and decisive leadership and management of market pursuits ensuring the tender and proposal is submitted on time and within budget.
Ability to understand, negotiate and manage client relationships including understanding client drivers and formulating win themes.
Organise and manage the technical information, ensuring accurate cost estimates, delivery strategies and supporting documentation are delivered within the prescribed deadlines.
Functional oversight of all bid management and estimation resources
What we need from you?
Your career will highlight the following achievements and experience, all of which will set you up for success:
Engineering Manager or Estimating Manager background (min 8 years)
Experience in Pre-Contracts Manager position with experience in managing a portfolio of multi-disciplined projects in the industry
Understanding of current market conditions and client demand cycles
Highly developed communication and negotiation skills
High Level business and commercial acumen with experience in managing the full bid lifecyle
Demonstrate an understanding of financial management and the financial goals of a department ((Financial principles, accounting procedures, budgets, revenue, job margin, plant costing, P&L, overhead, forecasts, direct and fixed costs)
