Financial Controller OMSA
The OMSA contract provides critical maintenance and fault services to the electrical distribution network in Victoria and is a key contract within the Downer Utilities Energy Networks portfolio. As such the OMSA FC role will be considered an integral member of the Downer Energy Networks operations team. The primary objective of the role is to enhance controls, compliance and governance within the contract operational environment. Also supporting the Contract Manager in delivering financial results, driving productivity improvement and delivery outcomes for the client.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Finance Team Lead for Energy Networks Australia, this position will be responsible for the financial integrity, governance, and control of the OMSA contract within the Energy Networks ANZ business.
- This role will manage a team of 4x finance personnel and will form an integral part of the implementation of project financial controls and contract evaluation.
- Making sure month end reporting and forecasts are met within the required timelines,
- Reviewing the detail underpinning monthly WIP and debtors' revenue accruals including understanding corresponding margin.
- Analyse revenues (work order management), operational expenditure (including payroll, subcontractor and material costs) and inventory controls to ensure attainment of profit objectives.
- Maximise monthly claims via contract administration, including monitoring cash flow.
- Review all capital expenditure / disposals for accuracy and integrity behind estimated benefits.
- Provide assistance in preparation of Bids and Tenders as well as rate reviews.
- Site based alongside operations management team with infrequent regional travel to key satellite office locations / depots.
ABOUT YOU
- CPA/CA qualified, bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce preferred.
- A governance mind set towards approval processes and compliance (corporate polices & procedures), technical revenue recognition skills together with strong project management skills.
- 5 years plus experience with previous exposure to medium to large commercial organization's with operational delivery experience.
- Demonstrated competence in Financial Management & reporting including budgeting, forecasting and trend / variance analysis and Sub-contractor Management.
- Experience with JDE, SAP or a tier one ERP system is fundamental.
- Experience using PowerBi will be considered an advantage.
- Willingness to travel between work sites/depots as required.
