National Operations Manager - Transmission Lines
Downer offers a range of services for the utility sector, incorporating traditional power and gas, renewable energy and technological communications services.
Our Power Systems team have recently secured several major projects and are seeking an experienced National Operations Manager – Transmission Lines to join our team supporting the delivery of significant transmission line projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This position will report to the General Manager – Power Systems and will be responsible for the day to day running and P&L of a multi-disciplinary $200m revenue business unit to ensure that all works being delivered are in accordance with Client and Downer requirements in terms of scope, cost and program management, ensuring that Zero Harm is maintained and promoted at all stages of works being delivered.
The Operations Manager is responsible for all line management and training and development requirements of the multi-disciplinary teams for Project Management, and field personnel under their control.
ABOUT YOU:
- Proven track record in a leadership/operations role in the Transmission Industry successfully demonstrating effective cost management business growth via effective staff and client relationship management.
- Relevant Engineering Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience in large leading teams in diversion geographic locations.
- Demonstrable and successful experience in a business / project operations management role.
- Demonstrable experience in building and managing large diverse self-delivery teams.
- Demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with stakeholders and developing new business opportunities.
- To be decisive on business issues, displaying timely and quality decision making, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
- Project planning; organisational and time management skills
