BUMA Australia are currently seeking applications from experienced CHPP Operators or Maintainers interested in joining the team at our Meandu site on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the CHPP Maintenance Supervisor or CHPP Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance on the coal handling and preparation fixed plant. You will also perform inspections to determine condition and suitability to return to service. The role could also extend to operating the CHPP.

SITE SUMMARY

BUMA Australia Pty Ltd provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver approximately 6 million tonnes of coal per year to the adjacent Tarong power station.

BUMA is responsible for both managing and operating the mine. Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-shovel operations.

Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.

The mine is located approximately 25 km south-east of Kingaroy in the South Burnett. The mine can be accessed via Nobby Smith Way, Nanango.

ABOUT YOU

  • Local to South Burnett Region – Residential role
  • Relevant fixed plant or diesel fitter / mechanical trade qualifications
  • Proven experience with fixed plant would be beneficial
  • High levels of initiative and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A strong focus on safety/ Zero Harm
  • Ability to work day and night shift rotations
  • Current Driver's licence and reliable transport
