Downer's Road Services business is one of the largest non-government owned road services businesses in Australia. We operate from a network of over 50 depots and maintain more than 33,000 km of road. Our Business is involved in many exciting ventures within the civil road industry throughout the country.

We are seeking a driven Production Engineer to work within our asphalt production and recycling facilities located in Bayswater and Somerton . Downer is a leading producer of asphalt and this role will play an instrumental part in ensuring we maintain this position while continuing to grow and innovate.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and Site Supervisors to support the day-to-day operations of the production business, drive continuous improvement strategies, and will be directly responsible for leading reliability and maintenance activities, and overseeing the maintenance team , to ensure safe, reliable and efficient site maintenance is achieved.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary Engineering qualifications
• Lead and champion a safety culture that supports Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategies.
• Ability to proactively build relationships with key stakeholders / team members.
• Exposure/familiarity with both CAD and CMMS packages highly regarded.
• Knowledge of production plant (asphalt, concrete, brick, quarry products, mineral production or mining) highly regarded.
• Proficient computer skills with strong practical knowledge of the MS Office suite.
• Highly technical and analytical mindset.
• Proven leadership skills ; coaching and mentoring teams.
• High level of initiative and self-motivation.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
