Communications Manager

FULL-TIME - CROWN MELBOURNE

This role is responsible for supporting and executing external and internal communications strategies and initiatives for Crown Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Communications, the role provides communications support to Crown Melbourne through proactive PR, reactive issues management, and internal communications. The Communications Manager is a team player who positively contributes to the culture of the Communications team. From time to time, the role may also be required to support Group-wide PR or Communications activities.

Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing the Melbourne communications plan and managing PR campaigns in line with the overarching Group Communications strategy.

  • Project management of Crown Melbourne media announcements, including drafting press releases, briefing documents, hosting media events and pitching stories.

  • Managing on-site photography and filming opportunities, ensuring Crown Melbourne and its people, products and services are represented appropriately.

  • Drafting reactive media statements for incoming media enquiries and seeking approval from internal stakeholders.

  • Drafting internal communications materials.

  • Working with cross-functional teams and business units to identify and support initiatives with media and communications.

  • Facilitating media famils.

  • Participating in team on-call roster including the monitoring of a centralised inbox and maintaining the issues register.

  • Managing the expectations of internal stakeholders to ensure timely, aligned, and effective communications and alignment around success and outcomes.

  • Ensuring compliance with and adherence to all relevant legislation and policies and procedures in relation to Responsible Service of Gaming (including training), and the company Code of Conduct.

The following criteria will be considered when reviewing applicants:

  • 3-5 years industry experience.

  • Bachelor of Journalism, Communications, PR or similar

  • Strong communicator across all forms – written and oral.

  • Strong project management, media management, pitching and issues management experience
