Full-Time - Crown Melbourne

Reporting to the General Manager - Legal (Melbourne) & Group Counsel IP, this role is responsible for providing accurate, high quality and pro-active support across a range of paralegal and administrative duties to the General Manager – Legal (Melbourne) & Group Counsel IP, Melbourne Legal team and occasionally for the broader Crown Resorts legal group.

Some responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing basic legal documents including contract amendments, extensions and licences and confidentiality agreements based on internal instructions.
  • Preparing execution versions of agreements including compiling annexures and attachments.
  • Management of contracts approval process, including obtaining relevant approvals and arranging for execution in accordance with Crown’s delegations policy.
  • Assisting with preparing trade mark applications, renewing trade marks through IP Australia, and applying for and renewing business names through ASIC.
  • Dealing with confidential board and company issues, including, but not limited to assisting the General Manager – Legal (Melbourne) with board papers and meetings.
  • Maintenance of Crown’s contract templates.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a Paralegal either in a national firm or in-house legal team highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with intellectual property rights and/or commercial matters preferable but not essential.
  • Strong drafting skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong administration background and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management and form relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working under pressure and with competing deadlines.
