The Project

CPB Contractors has been selected, in joint venture, as the partner to work with the Australian Rail Track Corporation for the delivery of Inland Rail’s southern civil works program.

The Australian Government’s Australian Rail Track Corporation selected the ACACPB Joint Venture, a 50-50 joint venture formed by CPB Contractors and ACCIONA Construction Australia, under a Collaborative Framework Agreement (CFA) for the planning and development of civil works between Narrabri and Narromine, in northern New South Wales.

The civil works involved include approximately 306 kilometres of new track formation comprising bulk earthworks, drainage, bridge/viaduct structures, materials and logistics management.

The Role

Based in the Brisbane CFA office in the CBD, the position will assist with pricing, providing constructability advice and technical input to the plans as well as overall engineering support to the team. This will be a tender type environment until delivery at the end of 2023. Reporting into the Project Director, it would suit a seasoned Construction Manager or Area Manager that has delivered projects and understands civil projects.

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience in a similar role on a project or a tender environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal, liaison, networking, team and individual leadership skills
• An ability to work to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities
• Analytical and strategic thinking
• A strong commercial focus with demonstrated business acumen
• Relationship management, conflict management and resolution and problem solving expertise
• A commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of high performance that consistently delivers results and behaviour that exceed expectations
• Working knowledge of JDE financial systems (highly regarded)
• Relevant tertiary qualification
