Do work that matters
The role will involve the provision of all aspects of credit services including advisory, credit decisions and recommendation of applications beyond approval levels for the Business Banking and Rural Regional Agricultural Business. Other aspects of the role will include credit monitoring and overview, interpretation of policy, operational risk, training and guidance within risk teams and BPB Bankers.

The GCS Business North Team is responsible and accountable for the effective management of business credit risk rated customers which either have a high probability of default or have defaulted under the terms of their arrangements.
The team pride ourselves on providing high quality internal customer service by providing guidance on risk related matters, particularly where there are concerns regarding the customers’ financial or contractual position with the Bank
In any given week you will
You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with the CBA’s purpose.

Develop, or contribute to the development of and implementation of strategies for the management of a portfolio of business customers who are in financial difficulty or defined as Trouble and Impaired Assets (TIA).

The implementation of the strategies will require you to:-

Review a business’s performance to determine the cause of the financial difficulty

Review the Banks security position to understand the risk of loss to the Bank.

Review security documentation

Liaise (Verbally and Written) with customers and their advisors

Liaise (Verbally and Written) with internal Bank Staff

Deal with customers day to day Banking enquiries

Establish provisions for where it is determined that the Bank may suffer a loss

Through the exercising of a Personal Credit Authority (PCCA) or recommendations where outside PCAA, to provide commercial solutions that minimise the risk of loss to the Bank

Maintain data integrity on the relevant systems.

Completion of monthly and adhoc business specific reporting on a portfolio basis

Identify and suggest ideas for where the Bank can improve its processes to provide a better customer outcome.

Contribute to the identification of emerging portfolio, industry and internal process issues.

We're interested in hearing from people who:
- Experience in a risk position, including exercising a meaningful delegation in a major financial institution and preferred to have experience in management of TIA’s
- Desirable to have had client relationship management experience
- Ability to think outside the box and adapt quickly to new situation
- Ability to provide sound, consistent risk decisions
- Advanced financial analysis skills
- Advanced Written and Verbal Communication skills
