About the role

As a national team, Coles Group Team Cover engages and collaborates across the entire Coles family to minimise the impact of workplace injury and help ensure our Team Members come home safely every day. In unfortunate cases of workplace accident or injury, we seek to support our Team Members, so they can concentrate on recovering and come back to work as soon as possible.

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and proactive Workers Compensation Claims professional to join Coles Team Cover as a Claims Specialist in a 12 month maternity leave, full-time role.

Reporting to the Claims Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of self-insured workers compensation claims and will work closely with key stakeholders to achieve optimal return to work and claim outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

On a day-to-day basis this role will see you responsible for end-to-end claims management for a portfolio of self-insured workers compensation claims. This will include setting the claims strategy for claims from start to end and provide a great outcome for our business and team members.

You’ll also be:

  • managing 50-60 Workers Compensation claims
  • communicating and interacting with medical professionals to facilitate return to work
  • participating in multidisciplinary reviews
  • interacting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

Good things you’ll need

A strong result driven professional with experience in claims management within a worker’s compensation or insurance environment.

You’ll also need

  • experience working as Case Officer in an Agent or Self insurer
  • knowledge of the current Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation
  • experience in negotiating Return to Work and rehabilitation outcomes
  • effective interpersonal and communication capabilities with a customer service mindset
  • ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines and a high attention to detail
  • qualification or certification in a health or business-related field will be highly desirable
