About the role
This role sits within Coles Group Limited, supporting all distributions centres primarily focused on our Parkinson distribution centre. Our distribution centres consist of approx. 3800 active employees plus agency workers. The primary purpose of this role is ensuring the accurate processing of payroll for the distribution centre.
The primary objective of the Payroll Officer position is to execute the service delivery of weekly payroll cycles. This role will be responsible for actual processing and working with the central payroll operations team and outsourced payroll provider.
The role is currently a 12 month fixed term - full time opportunity.
What you'll be doing
- Ensure successful completion of base roster creation, leave management and payroll exceptions in time and attendance, time management workbench and other associated systems.
- Maintain all elements required to ensure integrity of payroll processing
- Work with support functions to ensure smooth processing of weekly payroll
- Liaise with site stakeholders for timely approval of payroll related activities
- Provide support as required for executing operational processes and practices that ensure the accurate delivery of payroll activities
- To ensure that there are effective payroll controls embedded for payroll processes and practices to minimise non-compliance risks
- manage external providers to ensure smooth delivery of payroll processing
Good things you'll need
- Proven experience in a payroll processing environment
- Demonstrated experience with payroll and T&A systems and end to end payroll processes. Previous SAP Success Factors and Kronos experience an advantage
- Demonstrated understanding of payroll tax and WorkCover legislation, superannuation and PAYG
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting complex industrial instruments including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements (EAs)
- Experience in identifying and resolving compliance risks
- Prior experience in a complex payroll environment
