Diversity & Inclusion

We want to ensure that the engineering and construction industry is one where each and every person feels valued.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that accepts and recognises every person, embraces their strengths and differences, and provides opportunities for all people to achieve their highest potential.

We believe diversity brings broader knowledge, perspectives, ideas and experiences to our business, which is invaluable to us and our clients. Our workforce consists of people from a wide range of cultures, backgrounds and skills. This diversity is what makes Clough a great place to work.

Employer of Choice for Gender Equality

As part of our ongoing journey to remain an employer of choice, we are committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities in which we work and live

Clough received its first Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) in 2019 and since then we are continually developing new and better ways forward for our people and our business.

In 2022, Clough was granted its second Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). Clough was one of few organisations in the Engineering and Construction industry to receive this recognition, and it is one that we are incredibly proud to hold.

Clough is a proud partner of Pride in Diversity, Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTIQ+ workplace inclusion, and an active member of CEOs for Gender Equity and endorsed as an employer for all Women by Work180 since 2021.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan

Clough’s second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) was endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in April 2022.

Life at Clough

Our people enjoy competitive remuneration and benefits packages, ongoing professional growth, reward and recognition programs that celebrate performance, a flexible work environment to manage work, family and lifestyle commitments, and a host of mental health and well-being services to ensure they feel supported both in the workplace and outside of it.

Flexible work environment

We are committed to providing and maintaining a flexible work environment that enables all employees to manage their work, family and lifestyle commitments. Flexibility means different things to different people, so we deliver a range of options including compressed work weeks, job-sharing, remote work, flexible working hours and flexibility for specific periods. Offering this flexibility has been career-changing for many of our team members and is transforming the way we do business.

In addition, we offer carers leave, study leave, domestic violence leave and support, and competitive parental leave entitlements.

We recently introduced new gender-neutral parental leave entitlements as part of our commitment to building a culture that is inclusive and reflects equality. The entitlements include 16 weeks of paid leave, no eligibility period to qualify for parental leave, leave for stillbirth and surrogacy, and superannuation payments on the unpaid portion of leave for up to 36 weeks.

Learning and Development

We continually invest in our people to ensure our culture is one that supports each person to achieve their full potential. We are committed to providing our employees with internal and external programs to support strategic, leadership, professional and personal development. Clough employees have access to a range of development opportunities such as:

• Student scholarships
