Airside Operations Training Officer
We are seeking talented Airside Operations Training Officer to promote aviation safety for our busy runways, planes and passengers at Brisbane Airport!
As Airside Operations Training Officer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality training content and administration to support our Training Coordinator. This training is integrated into the Aviation Safety Management System ensuring compliance and safety of airfield operations.
Key deliverables for this role will include the ongoing maintenance of aviation safety, demonstrating excellence in service delivery and standards, as well as regulatory compliance.
This is a permanent full-time position based at our Airside Operations centre (will suit you if you like plane spotting!).
About you
- Sound knowledge of Aviation Safety/Security requirements at a major airport.
- Sound knowledge of Airport Emergency Procedures.
- Good understanding of MOS 139 standards concerning Airport Operations Officer duties.
- Knowledge of Airport Operational and Security Standards and practices.
- Background knowledge of pavements, drainage and other airport maintenance fields desirable.
- Knowledge of CASRs, MOS Part 139-Aerodromes, Airports Act and By-Laws, Airports (Control of on Airport Activities) Regulations 1997, AOM and SOPs.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include
- Support the development of training assessment plans as per training modules in the AOC Training Plan.
- Assist with development of presentations and toolbox sessions for the delivery and assessment of all AOC training material.
- Assist with the review of Standard Operating Procedures as per the AOC Training Plan.
- Liaise with Control Room Team Leader for staffing allocations and training requirements.
- Support AOC staff training requirements in discussions with other business representatives including Workplace Health and Safety and the Airport Security Team.
- Maintain and update AOC training plan with the Training Coordinator.
- Assist in the continual improvement and implementation of BAC’s Aviation Safety Management System including the review and analysis of training material through a risk-based approach and recommendations to improve safety and compliance operations.
Experience and qualifications
Essential
- Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations).
- Possess or able to acquire a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Hold a current Class ‘C’ State driver’s licence.
- Ability to hold a BACL Cat.3 RWY Airside Driver’s Authority.
- Ability to hold a Queensland Firearms licence.
- Medically fit, commensurate with duties including 6/12 vision/acuity/colour perception using one or both eyes and with effective hearing.
- Ability to obtain an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate.
- Possess or able to acquire an ASIC and if required undergo a security check.
