About the Role
We are actively seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to join our SA Concrete business. Reporting to the Southern General Manager - Concrete, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and sustainable management of 7 concrete plants located across South Australia.
To support the geographic range, this position will cover candidates with flexibility to base themselves and travel to sites located around South Australia are encouraged to apply. To support you, we will provide you with a Tool of Trade vehicle, phone and laptop!
Duties
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Plant Managers with the daily, safe operation of plants
- Ensuring a strong behavioural safety culture and a zero-harm environment
- Ensuring the timely delivery of the highest quality products and services to customers
- Establishing and maintaining a productive and motivated team environment and the delivery of a continuous improvement culture
- Managing production cost within agreed budget guidelines and report on variations
- Contributing towards the development and training of human resources to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Ensuring up-to-date knowledge of all relevant Statutory and Corporate Safety and Environmental requirements
- Input into the yearly sales budgets
- Supporting and helping manage pipeline sales and project quotation follow-up
- Providing excellent leadership and motivation for all the sales team
Skills & Experience
We are seeking a supportive individual who can demonstrate:
- 3-5 years proven experience managing multiple sites with competing priorities
- Strong leadership attributes including good people management skills and emotional intelligence
- Ability to manage, influence and build rapport with stakeholders from a variety of functions to effectively manage projects
- Strong business development skills and the ability to identify new prospective clients and channels to market
- Demonstrated success in the development and delivery of sustainable cost control and efficiency improvement programs
- A proven ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to problems
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and influencing skills, a clear thinking and practical approach, together with a strong achievement focus
- Establishing competitive, commercial practices to maximise profit revenue
