The role:

We are looking for Asphalt Batch Plant Operators to join our Asphalt Manufacturing team in Port Kembla. Primary responsibilities will be the safe and efficient operation of asphalt plants, dispatch and loading of trucks, ordering of raw materials, record keeping of both computer and manual entries as well as on site quality assurance. Loader and bobcat operations will also be a requirement of this role. Forklift ticket preferred but not required. Operators will also participate in safety initiatives including pre-starts, toolboxes, incident reporting & plant maintenance.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate batching of orders to specified mix designs and utilizing the docket & dispatch system
  • Day-to-day administration of the Asphalt Plant including stock control of raw materials
  • Work closely with the laboratory team
  • General yard and plant housekeeping and maintenance, along with the safe operation of a front-end loader.

Do you possess the below skills:

  • A strong commitment to safety and the environment along with a superior customer focus;
  • Relevant batching and/or asphalt industry experience;
  • Front End Loader competency
  • Other tickets that would benefit are; Forklift, EWP, Confined Space & Skid steer
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritise competing deadlines;
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday Dayshift hours and, Sunday to Thursday Night Shift including overtime hours when required;
