Maintenance Manager (Peppertree)
About Peppertree Quarry
Boral's Peppertree Quarry is the company's largest hard rock quarry in Australia.
Located in the NSW Southern Tablelands, the quarry serves the Sydney metropolitan area's need for building aggregates.
The quarry will operate 7 days a week so there will be a 12 hour shift structure with 4 rotating crews.
About the position
Reporting to the Quarry Manager you will have responsibility for the planning and execution of maintenance of fixed and mobile assets at Peppertree. The role is responsible for optimising the performance of plant and equipment while ensuring compliance to safety standards and adherence to Boral's OH&S, Environmental and Quality Standards and in line with budget/cost expectations.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accept and carry out responsibilities in accordance with the relevant Boral OHS system,
- Plan and schedule maintenance using CMMS,
- Ensure the implementation of planned and preventative maintenance activities,
- Implementation of site based predicative maintenance
- Manage maintenance expenditure to achieve operational and cost budgets,
- Conduct reviews of current practices and implement improvements,
- Maximise equipment availability and utilisation and minimise production downtime,
- Liaise with the Quarry Manager to ensure site activities comply with statutory standards, regulatory standards and contractual arrangements,
- Manage a crew of maintenance staff across all shifts
- Ensure the use of work permits and the development of SWMS by operators and maintenance employees and contractors for non-routine tasks, across all shifts,
- Document maintenance records, processes and procedures for all plant and equipment,
- Review of the quality of work conducted by all site maintenance personnel.
To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience and attributes:
- Proven ability and experience in maintenance management/planning,
- Proven ability and comprehension of OH&S requirements on a mine site, quarrying or heavy industrial
- Relevant trade qualifications in an engineering or maintenance related discipline,
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance equipment,
- Strong people skills and communication skills,
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines,
- Strong written skills,
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills,
- Sound presentation skills,
- Ability to manage operational costs and budgeting, and
- Comprehensive and proven management experience.
Desirable Competencies include:
- Use of a CMMS at a large mining or manufacturing facility, and
- Experience in a mining, quarrying or heavy industrial environment.
