About the Role
The Geoscience Supervisor role at Area C & South Flank oversees the Tactical Infill and Tactical Definition programs which forms the input to the Short Term Geological Model which in turn informs the two year mine plan for volume and grade. It is a critical role, requiring someone with deep technical and operational knowledge as well as strong influential and leaderships skills to manage multiple drill rigs across several contracting partners over a 24/7 operation. The role is a statutory supervisor (Schedule 26 appointed), has a demonstrated commitment to safety, deep Geoscience knowledge and understanding, solid planning and project management experience, contractor management and relationship building acumen, proficiency in Geoscience software, collaborative nature and ideally experienced in a similar role previously.

About the role:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP “Our Requirements”, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- Demonstrated leadership and outstanding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Support the delivery of Geoscience in-field programs, including monitoring and escalating on variances to planned safety, operational and finance metrics.
- Ensure all planned maintenance are completed to plan and schedule and challenge any deviations
- Maintain the Operations risk register is updated and used for the planning and risk management intent
- Delivery of the Safety Field Leadership schedule monthly for area of responsibility
- Ownership of any Short term changes to execution not impacting the schedule, plan or program intent outside the 7 day window
- Develop strong relationships with our contracting partners who play a key part in the delivery of the Geoscience Operations portfolio and assist our contracting partners with strategic and tactical improvements.
About You
- WHS Section 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment and at least 2 years as a Supervisor in the Mining industry
- Qualification in Geoscience, Engineering or Project Management (recommended)
- Geoscience, Drilling, Earthworks or Projects experience
- Planning and project management expertise
- Solid stakeholder engagement and influential skills
- Excellent communications skills, across all levels of an organisation
- Proficiency in Geoscience software programs preferred (ArcGIS, Data management portal, DDMS)
