About the Role
Reporting to the Mine Scheduling Superintendent, as a Mine Scheduling Specialist - Draglines you will be engaged in providing design and execution direction for the Peak Downs Operation.
This role is a technical role responsible for the design, scheduling and optimisation for all draglines within the 5-dragline fleet at Peak Downs. Use your already solid mine planning skills and experience in this busy and challenging short-term mine planning role to develop effective working relationships with the operational and medium-term planning teams, in order to ensure the efficient execution of your plans and schedules.
This is a great opportunity to hone your mine planning skills as you gain exposure to a variety of equipment and mine geology whilst seeing the results of work as your pit is developed. You will also have access to a supportive, inclusive and results-oriented leadership team.
This role is being offered on either an 8 days on 6 days off roster or a 4 days on 3 days off roster with flexible travel conditions available to qualifying candidates. There is access to heavily subsidised company housing or Single Person Village Accommodation provided with this role.
Your responsibilities
- Prepare Dragline execution designs and sequences;
- Communicate the designs and schedules to Operations;
- Develop and follow the Production Planning standards and processes;
- Participate in the investigation of reported events for Production Planning;
- Identify and implement Production Planning improvement initiatives;
- Build cross-functional relationship with the Operational sub-functions and interact extensively with the Planning sub-functions.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will have:
- A tertiary education in Engineering and previous experience working at a Coal Mining operation.
- Prior experience as a dragline engineer with strong skills in 3D Dig and section work in Vulcan, Deswik or equivalent CAD software.
- Complex problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels
