About the Role
The purpose of the role is to provide thought leadership and technical mastery in the development, evaluation, recommendation and delivery of Asset level strategy and medium to long-term plans of the Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) business. To monitor Asset level plan integration and delivery to identify emerging risks or gaps in major programs of work, which could impact plan outcomes or have a material impact on strategic direction.
In this Principal Business Planning Perth based role, you will be dedicated to supporting the world class WAIO Asset. You will support us to develop and maintain best practice business planning processes, with a thirst for continuous improvement. You will work within a function that spans the whole of WAIO, which makes this a unique and exciting opportunity.
- Maintain a wide network of impact, integrate functions, operations and regions to drive strong functional/operational integration across the Asset.
- Through the application of technical mastery in the core areas of Resource engineering, Supply Chain Planning and Commercial:
- Identify, assess and trade-off business opportunities to improve value.
- Support holistic plan optimisation and integration across all the strategic pillars.
- Pro-active identification of plan or strategy delivery risks.
- Undertake structured opportunity framing and problem solving engagements to lead teams through complex business opportunities or challenges with multiple variables or scenarios, and a high level of ambiguity.
- Lead cross-functional and operational teams to deliver Asset / Operation based directional and delivery plans, including the Asset Strategy, Life of Asset and Budget.
- Lead the WAIO Program Integration to monitor Asset level plan integration and delivery to identify emerging risks or gaps.
Location
You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - 'City Square'. You will have stunning river views from your modern open plan office, state of the art facilities including virtual whiteboards and video conferencing facilities, 550 bicycle racks with ample lockers, showers and change room amenities and a large outdoor terrace with barbecues.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Engineering or similar, and relevant Post-Graduate studies are beneficial.
With significant strategic planning experience or a passion to develop in this arena, you will demonstrate:
