About the Role

Reporting to the Lead Governance & Compliance, the Specialist Compliance and Risk will ensure that appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place and adhered to maintain compliance with relevant requirements.

Leadership

  • Encourage positive culture through effective communication and provides constructive feedback to all relevant parties of projects on a regular basis.
  • Lead, coach and guide employees, contractors and business partners in applicable standard & procedures across all sites for executing projects
  • Plays a role in team development to ensure a safe, sustainable and disciplined approach to work.
  • Provide assistance in the identification and management of risk through compliance with risk management processes and practices across all projects.
  • Play a compliance role in Chapter 5 Mobilization of Mineral Australia Internal Standard.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the implementation across all executing projects of the “Good to Go” process for MAP Coal Projects.
  • Ensure required input for end of month and other reporting requirements are provided to Lead Compliance & Risk.
  • Oversee CMP progress updates and quality goals are met and maintained across all projects
  • Actively contribute to best HSEC and risk management practices and support the supply quality system and continuous improvement programs

Core Accountabilities

Technical

  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, standards and procedures that assists with meeting compliance across the business.
  • Provide direction and advice on risk identification and risk management through compliance with risk management processes and practices.
  • Exercises judgment based on practice and precedence to evaluate situations not covered by procedures and recommends solutions.
  • Provides reports and/or technical advice for project evaluation.
  • Applies company and industry standards and is knowledgeable in the application of critical processes.
  • Suggests improvements to systems, processes, and practices to ensure safe, efficient and effective outcomes.
  • Provides subject matter expertise, system and/or process advice, mentoring and training to various areas of the projects.
  • Applies specialist knowledge to execute standard work processes and communicates results.
  • Facilitation of Execution Project Risk Assessments (WRAC & Risk Register) and technical knowledge of risk management process.
  • Trains to become knowledgeable in their area and understands their role in executing asset processes and procedures.
  • Utilizes business systems and ensures data is accurate for reporting.
  • Embedding key safety processes designed by the function within operations to ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Active involvement in any incident/accident reviews and ensures that identified root causes and contributing factors are actioned ad completed within their due dates for compliance against 1SAP HSE Reporting

About You

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Desired Experience

  • Trade or paraprofessional qualification or equivalent acquired knowledge through experience in role.

  • Supervisor - RIIOHS301 Conduct Safety and Health Investigations
  • Supervisor - RIIRIS301 Apply risk management process
  • G2 Trained RIIRIS402 Carry out the risk management processes
  • 3 Years relevant experience
  • Experience in Contractor Management
  • Previous experience in executing projects will be well highly regarded.
