About the Role

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, education, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

This position is offered on a FIFO/DIDO/Residential 7/7 roster at Olympic Dam. FIFO from Adelaide only. Relocation would be self-funded.

The Mine Services team have multiple positions available for experienced Miner General Services to join the team. The purpose of this position is to contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Mine Services department, delivering compressed air and water throughout the mine, installation of dewatering equipment, installation and building of ventilation controls and barricades.

Duties of the role include:

  • Installation, removal and repair of air, water and dewatering lines.
  • Installation and removal of transportable pumps.
  • Installation and removal of ventilation controls and vent and backfill barricades
  • Hanging and reclaiming secondary ventilation fans and ducting.
  • Stope preparation and recovery.
  • Other tasks as required by the Mine Services department.

  • Minimum experience of 1 year working in Mine Services within an Underground Hard Rock mining environment.
  • Current valid working at heights competency (valid within 5 years of obtaining).
  • Integrated Tool Carrier ticket.
  • A valid Driver’s Licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
