About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, you will use your strong technical skills and experience to work with a team of engineers to produce optimised designs and schedules that will enable operations to deliver superior performance.
In this role you will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and customers to ensure plan compliance and examine opportunities of continuous improvement.
This role is based at Blackwater Mine, Central Queensland. Residential, DIDO and other travel options are available on a flexible roster.
Role Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a high safety culture through quality field leadership interactions;
- Deliver safe and efficient dragline designs that support the operational team and enable success;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers and functional teams;
- Produce and maintain a set of accurate mining reserves to support the development of the mine plan;
- Support the scheduling team to produce a mine plan from week +1 to 18 months that maximise value from our resource and meet business objectives;
- Identify and manage equipment interactions and plan enabling activities into an integrated mine plan;
- Monitor spatial compliance to dragline designs and provide feedback to the operational teams;
- Prepare strip reconciliations and share learnings with stakeholders to continually improve the mine plan;
- Seek out and embed improvement opportunities through standardised work and planning procedures;
About You
You will have a tertiary education in mining engineering or equivalent. You will have demonstrated experience working as a mining engineer and demonstrate a high level of safety culture.
You will use your considerable communications & influencing skills to drive positive change, interacting with all levels of the business to achieve goals. Your natural curiosity and diversity of thought will be embraced along with your “can-do” attitude.
A strong working knowledge of the following software packages is preferred but not essential:
- Spry
- Deswik
- 3D Dig
- Microsoft Office Suite
