About IROC

IROC - Integrated Remote Operations Centre

As a technology enabled centre of excellence, IROC employees work collaboratively with site teams on a shift-to-shift basis to make faster decisions improving safety and optimising value across the supply chain. About the Role

This newly developed 12-month New to Industry program will provide motivated and passionate individuals the opportunity to learn valuable skills for the future of Mining. Individuals will be equipped with the resources and support needed to establish a dynamic and fulfilling career with BHP.

You will be a part of our IROC Mine Control team. Initially based in Brisbane for a six-month period on a lifestyle roster (5, 5, 4) and then FIFO to site for six months on a 7/7 roster while completing a training program to develop the skills and knowledge required to take ownership for achieving production targets, through the effective operation of our Autonomous fleet using Fleet Management Systems.

After the initial training period of six months, you will report to the Supervisor AH Control where you will be trained in safely executing the daily operations plan while optimising the utilisation of the autonomous truck fleet.

Some of your key responsibilities during training will include:

  • Developing an understanding of the site Safety Systems and their link to health and safety
  • Learning how to manage the autonomous fleet effectively and efficiently
  • How to maximise compliance to the operational plan
  • Develop mutually beneficial relationships through effective communication
  • Participate in continuous improvement through identifying system and operational process improvements in the use of the autonomous fleet management system
